The NDIS is a new way for families with a child with a disability to access the supports they need and be more involved in their communities.
It aims to put the goals of your child and your family at the centre of supports. The NDIS will work with you to develop a plan to achieve these goals, and put you in control over who delivers the services you want and what these look like.
Together with an early childhood intervention service provider, the NDIS will investigate what information, emotional supports, or mainstream services your family and your child need, the short, medium, or long-term supports which may be required, and help develop a plan and give you the ability to choose your providers and start receiving supports.
The NDIS will support your child from birth to 65, through one streamlined system.
